Visit Black River Landing ↗The Charles Berry Bascule Bridge spans the Black River in downtown Lorain with a 330-foot double-leaf bascule main span across 12 spans and 1,053 feet of bridge. When it opened in 1940, it was the largest bascule bridge in the world — today it remains the second longest. Carrying over 2,100 vehicles a day and averaging 700 openings per year for massive Great Lakes freighters, watching the bridge rise is an unforgettable sight and a defining piece of Lorain's heritage.
The Lorain Palace Theatre is a 1,400-seat historic theatre in downtown Lorain that has been a cornerstone of the community for decades. Dedicated to promoting the arts, the Palace presents a wide variety of events including concerts, plays, recitals, private events, and so much more.
